Pasteup Cello Chicken #1
This is an original mixed media artwork on a canvas panel featuring one of my Cello Chicken pasteups. Designed to bring a piece of the street into your home decor. It measures 11 x 14 in (279 x 355mm).
The canvas is layered with a brush and spray painted background that mimics a wall in the street, with one of my pasteup Cello Chicken prints pasted on top (plus extra paint pen highlight on the feathers and cello). The canvas has been finished with a coat of UV protective, non-yellowing matte varnish.
Why a chicken with a cello? Because we all need a bit of bonkers now and again. A miniature massive string instrument and a cocky looking piece of poultry ticks the box. I drew its comb (the thing on its head) as a human hand, which is totally nuts BUT if you’ve ever seen Feathers McGraw (of Wallace & Gromit fame) you might be able to figure out where the inspiration for that bit came from. The page in the background is one from everyone’s favourite nightstand read – “Essays in Musical Analysis Volume 3, Concertos”. This pasteup pops up on walls in a few spots, from the Manchester to Shoreditch. This one is just for you, though.
