Frida’s Hummingbird Scarf

Print (210 x 210mm)

Frida Kahlo is perhaps one of the most iconic female painters. My illustration is inspired by her Self Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, which I have redesigned to feature more positive symbolism to create a beautiful and empowering piece of women-focussed art. Additional Information

A beautiful and empowering art print to bring positivity and good vibes to your space.

Inspired by one of Frida Kahlo’s most famous self-portraits, this botanical scene features Frida at the forefront wearing a silk scarf decorated with hummingbirds and golden leaves. It is said by some that white cats are a positive omen, symbolising happiness, healing, and rebirth. Their presence in this illustration is my twist on the original self-portrait which instead only featured a single black cat. In her hair she wears a Calla Lily flower brooch, which is a symbol of magnificence and beauty, a fitting tribute to this strong, driven and passionate woman.

This print has been created from my original pen illustration, which I created as a tribute to Frida Kahlo whose work has always left me in awe. I created the original artwork in black pen and coloured using a vibrant palette of digital colour.
