Pop them in a frame, not the recycling bin
I’ve created 3 Rochdale-inspired Christmas cards that do more than just share your seasons greetings – they’re designed to be kept for life.
The Victorian-born tradition of sending festive wishes to friends and family in a Christmas card is a huge part of our festive routine. I think there’s something really wholesome about writing a card with a pen and then popping it in the ‘snail mail’. But I do wonder how many tonnes of greetings cards end up being recycled at the end of each year…
I’ve created 3 Rochdale-inspired Christmas cards to do more than just share your seasons greetings – they’re miniature pieces of wall art that you (or whoever you gift it to) can keep for life. Each one is a 2-layer screen print, hand-pulled, dried, and then assembled right here in Rochdale by me and Mr Doodlher.
“The cards look amazing in little picture frames. You don’t even need to disassemble them. Just fold the card back in half & pop it in!”
If you’re also buying one of my art prints, there’s no extra cost to add Christmas cards to your order. If you’d just like to buy Christmas cards, I have special postage prices in place for the UK. Add your cards to your basket to calculate postage.
Behind the Scenes
“Drawn in Rochdale, screen printed in Rochdale, assembled in Rochdale. Now that’s made local!”
The first layer of ink for this design is squeegeed onto the card by hand
The first layer is wet and drying under the lamp
Setting the first layer on the print bed so it lines up with the new black layer that will be printed on top. The next layer will create the outlines.
